Educational Experience EME2040

“The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn't think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential.” ~Steve Ballmer

WOW! This class is already over?? Where has the time gone?

Six weeks sure did fly by fast. This is the last class I have to take that goes towards my degree, AA in Elementary Education. If I would have taken this class 1st, I could have made better power points. I would likewise have been able to understand the web tools and how they work.

The first assignment was to make a Blog. Make a blog...I was very anxious about this. I was going to post something the whole world could read. The textbook that was used for this class, was informative and had valuable information in it. I read the 1st chapter in the book “Transforming Learning with New Technologies” and was able to complete my 1st digital badge, in this class. I was then able to use web tools to create more digital badge on all the chapters I read. Subsequently I was then able to accomplish bigger and better projects.

This class taught me how to evaluate and really dissect educational student websites. Which was helpful when I did a collaborative Wiki and a collaborative Lesson plan. The collaborative Wiki was a lot of hard work and lots of research. After doing the Wiki, I was confident enough to be able to make my own Web Quest. My Web Quest was on spiders.

The last project I completed in this class was to make my own Website, you may view all my accomplishments on my website. I would have never thought it was possible to create my own website. My children had to read it to believe it. I will use my website for a reference (my knowledge on being a 21st century teacher) for any future job applications. I am very proud of the work I have accomplished in this short amount of time.

I found this YouTube Video when I was researching technology in classrooms and I find it very informative.
